The List of Lynchburg Voters: Analysis of the Men Who
Voted" written by Donna Beth Shaw.
Donna Beth Shaw points out that
few historians have ever noticed the
Lynchburg election returns from the Texas
Revolution. The election occurred on February 2,
1836. About a month and a half later, the fate
of Texas would be decided at the Battle of San
Jacinto close to very spot where the Lynchburg election
occurred. Jacob Maybee who voted in the Lynchburg
election would also fight in the Battle of San
Jacinto.
